Whistle Blowing Policy
Society for the Aged Sick has in place a Whistleblowing policy. To develop a culture of accountability and transparency, this policy addresses SAS’ commitment to ethical behaviour where stakeholders (employees and external parties such as volunteers and contractors) are encouraged to report concerns of misconducts or wrongdoing without fear of reprisal or unfair treatment. Examples of such concerns include:
- Failure to comply with legal obligations.
- Threats to health or safety of residents, employees and/or the public.
- Fraud (e.g. theft, corruption, misrepresentation, bribery, kickback, or embezzlement).
- Abuse of power.
- A deliberate attempt to cover up any of the above.
Stakeholders could raise such concerns in writing and email to whistleblowing@sas.org.sg. The recipients to this account are the members of the Governance Sub-Committee.
Any concern raised or information provided anonymously shall be given due consideration on the basis of its merits and at the absolute discretion of SAS. As SAS takes all concerns raised seriously, the whistle blower is encouraged to identify himself or herself and also provide the relevant contact details to assist in the conduct of its investigations.
SAS endeavours not to reveal the identity of the whistle blower and all concerns raised will be treated with strictest confidence except as necessary or required to be disclosed by law.
